The Aquila must be fully upgraded to have the best chance at completing this mission.
When this mission starts the seas are getting choppy. There are 5 Schooners for you to deal with. Use either round shot or your Swivel shot to take them out quickly. You need The Aquila in as good condition as you can get her for the second part of the fight. As much as possible, fire and ram to the fullest effect. After they go down, the real fight begins. The seas grow much rougher at this point in the battle.
The Orpheus has an escort of 2 Man-Of-Wars, putting the total at 3 for you to deal with.
If you want to go after the Full Synch conditions, then equip Chain Shot. Go by each of the Man-Of-Wars and fire a broadside or two of it. This will strip them of their mast and arrest their movement. After that, circle around and ram them on the bow of the ship. More likely than not, this will expose their powder store and you can blast it quickly with the Swivel cannon. Repeat this for each of the ships. This is not easy to do, so expect a retry or two for Full Synch.
