This power source is the second of three that the Assassins need in order to power the Grand Temple. It was taken from a tycoon's wife who'd been wearing it as a bracelet. They had been gunned down by Daniel Cross who stole it and Desmond had to track down.
This ancient artifact from the first civilization must be placed within the Grand Temple in order to power the temple.
