"Reach the Ship's Wheel" is a mission objective in Sequence 1/Memory 01, Edward Kenway
Walkthrough[edit]
(Beginning of game)
Edward Kenway must reach the Ship's Wheel
On Screen Prompts will tell you how to move and rotate the camera.
Go towards the green circle that says "Reach"
When you are near the wheel, interact with it to Take Wheel ("B" on Xbox 360/Xbox One, "Circle" on PS3/PS4, "A" on Wii U)
(After freeing Stede Bonnet)
Swim towards the merchant's ship and climb it, then take the wheel to complete the objective.
