Recruit Maroons

"Recruit Maroons" is a mission objective in Freedom Cry in Plantations

Walkthrough[edit]

Adewale needs to recruit 20 Maroon Assassins to move forward in his memories. The easiest thing to do is to finish liberating the Plantation you passed through to get here. Start by heading to the South. It is important to note that the Overseers can instantly kill any of the Slaves they attack. You need to avoid getting fights for this reason. Duck under the fallen tree and then slip into the Stalking Zones nearby the Southern Sugar Fields on this plantation.

Head to the Southern part of the Stalking Zones to find the next Overseer. Tag him first with a Sleep Dart then rush over and kill him. Alternatively you can lure him in by seen so he will investigate. Either way head into the Sugar Cane field that is nearby.

Go to the Western side of it. There will be another Overseer who walks by. Use Eagle Vision to tag him and the other one across the way to the left. You can lure the first one in with a quick whistle but you need to be fast about it. If he wanders off, let him be. Instead head to the Southwest and take out the other Overseer. He is in the Sugarcane field, making it very simple to kill him.

Continue to the West through the Sugarcane. Climb up onto the rooftop nearby. This will let you perform a Double Aerial Assassination on the 2 Overseers to the West of the hut nearby the Sugarcane you are in. It is tougher, but still possible, for you to slip up behind them and kill them. After back into the Sugarcane and look to the North of the alarm bell. There are 2 more Overseers nearby. Slip over to the Northern side using the Sugarcane to the East of the Overseers; the farther, the better. From there just get behind them and perform a double assassination on both of them.

Now head for the Windmill with the Viewpoint. There is a Pair of Overseers standing in front of it. Peg one or both with a Berserk Dart then watch the fun. There is a chance the 2 Overseers you killed earlier are back. That just adds to the total count. Tag the one by the Well with a Berserk Dart or slip around behind him and kill him from the well again. After that go and deal with the Overseer at that Sugarcane Field to the West of the Well.

Continue to the West and deal with the next Overseer. After that go toward the next Alarm Bell. Most are not looking at it but there is one Overseer patrolling the road in front of it. Duck into some of the Stalking Zone on the Northern side. Wait for him to turn around. Duck into the Sugarcane nearby the Bell. Wait and see if one of the Overseers noticed you. If they did, lure them into the field for a kill. If one is going for the bell just charge him immediately for a quick Running Assassination. From there just pick off what overseers are left for you to reach 20. It should not be many. Be sure that after you liberate the area you go and Synchronize with the Viewpoint on top of the Windmill. This can put you as high as 10 Maroon Assassins.

You still need another 10 to finish this requirement. Head toward town and start chipping away at it. Escaping Slaves only count for one while Punishments count for a few Slaves. Find and liberating Slaves from Auctions, Convoys or Jails are much better way but you should go for everyone you can. Those marked with a Fist are recruited as Maroon Assassins while those marked with the chain icon count toward liberated Slaves. When you have recruited 20 you can move on.
