Restricted areas in Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag are heavily occupied by enemies, either roaming brigands or soldiers of the crown.
Edward is not allowed in these areas, and if he is seen by an enemy even for a moment he will be immediately attacked.
This means that stealth in these sections is paramount. On the other hand, great treasures and story objectives are often found inside of these areas, encouraging players to explore them to their fullest.
