"Competitor Deterrence Field" is a story object in the story mission Where Angels Fear to Tread.

This massive red, crackling barrier will kill anything that walks through it. Go instantly to Death, no Fight For Your Life, Light The Fuse, do not get $200. This "field" is very hard, and nearly impossible if you don't know how to beat it. There is an obstacle near where the constructor lies, that you can use for protection. If you do use this, make sure you also defend youself against the loaders and engineers.
