The Bee: The Bee is one of the advanced shields you can find in Borderlands 2. Read this basic tutorial to learn how shields work in Borderlands 2

Shields in Borderlands 2 provide additional protection to your character. The shield absorbs a certain amount of damage, and only once depleted, your character will start losing health when hit. While your shield is up, your character does not take damage, it is instead absorbed by your shield.

Basic Stats[edit]

Shields have 3 main stats (All shields have these)

Capacity[edit]

This is the amount of damage the shield can absorb. Once depleted, your character starts taking the damage. For example, if your shield has a capacity of 400, and each enemy shot hits you for 100 damage, your shield will absorb the first four shots (and you do not lose health), but the fifth shot will subtract from your health.

Recharge Rate[edit]

Once your shield is depleted, it will start recharging after a few seconds (see "Recharge Delay"). For example if your shield has a capacity of 400 and a recharge rate of 200, it will be fully recharged after 2 seconds.

Recharge Delay[edit]

This is the amount of time it takes from the moment your shield was depleted, until the moment it starts recharging. For example if a shield has a recharge delay of 5 seconds, once the shield is depleted, it won't start recharging until 5 seconds has passed. During those 5 seconds your character is extremely vulnerable, since he has no shields

Advanced Shields[edit]

Booster Shields[edit]

Booster Shields have a chance to spawn a Booster every time it gets hit. The booster can be picked up by you or your allies and use to instantly recharge your shields.

Maylay Shields[edit]

A Maylay Shield gives some bonus to all your party when it's depleted. For example it will make melee attacks do bonus raid damage.

Amp Damage Shields[edit]

Amp Damage shields boosts the damage of the first shot fired whenever your shield is full or recharges.
