Vending Machines often offer an "Item of the Day"
It is a random item that the machine normally does not sell, and it is better than the everyday normal items there.
The Item of the day is only available for a limited time, before getting replaced with a different item. A countdown timer will tell you how much time you have left to buy the item if you want it, afterwards it is gone forever.
