Description

Gesane has come across a Frost Talus

Walkthrough

• Talk with Gesane who patrols the first bridge leading to the Breath of the Wild: Rito Village.
• Gesane will tell Link about the Frost Talus that he saw.
• You will need to make your way to Coldsnap Hollow.
• The quickest way is to travel to Shada Naw Shrine.
• Head south from there and make you way into the Coldsnap Hollow.
• Make your way to the Northeast section of the Coldsnap Hollow to find the Frost Talus.
• Fighting the Frost Talus can be challenging.
• Either climb up the Frost Talus and attack with a Fire Weapon or attack it at range with Fire Arrows.
• Defeating the Frost Talus can take some time. Only approach it if you have the full Snowquill Armor Set at Level 2.
• Climb up on the Talus and attack its Ore to do damage to the Talus.
• When destroyed, it will drop a number of Gems and Flint.
• Return to the first bridge leading into Rito Village and talk with Gesane.
• Talking with Gesane will complete the quest.
• This quest reward is a Silver Rupee.

Gensame: Good day. You ever heard of a "Cold shoulder"? That's nothing compared to a soggy, frozen shoulder. Brrrrr! Divine Beast Vah Medoh was kicking up a storm just a while ago, but he's calmed down now. Hmm? Did you need something?

Link: How are you?

Gensame: How am I? Can't complain, I suppose... Never mind that. Please, listen to this! I was out for a walk earlier, and I saw... a Frost Talus

Link: Frost Talus?

Gensame: Yes! It's a giant monster made of enchanted ice! I was out running an errand when I saw it... It was incredible... and terrifying. It was incredibly terrifying. I believe I was it over in Coldsnap Hallow before my adrenaline kicked in and I fled like the wind. In any case, it was enormous. But I bet a Champion could have taken it down no problem.

Gensame: Good Morning. Do you need something?

Link: I defeated it.

Gensame: WHAT?! You defeated the Frost Talus in Coldsnap Hollow?! I never would have thought a Hylian could take down something that big. No offense. Well, that's a relief. If that thing had wandered this way, the entire village would've been in danger! It's not much, but I'd like to reward you for your trouble.

Summary

Gesane, a Rito Village guardsman, said he saw a Frost Talus over at Coldsnap Hollow.

If you encounter a Frost Talus in your travels there, be sure to destroy it.

• Having Frost reducing gear is very helpful, being "Unfreezable" key to interact with the Talus without getting frozen.
• Fire weapons and arrows do extra damage to the Frost Talus.
