Walkthrough[edit]

  • To learn more, travel to Daqo Chisay Shrine, just outside Gerudo Town.
  • Change your clothes appropriately then go inside Gerudo Town.
  • Go to the entrance of the palace's throne room.
  • Just outside there you will find Take talking with one of the guards and she will mention a Molduga.
  • She will mention it was spotted in the East Barrerns and that the Guard could not hurt it in the least.
  • She will also tell Link that Traysi has gone there to get a "hot scoop" on the events.
  • Travel to the Misae Suma Shrine.
  • From Misae Suma Shrine, head to the East, keeping along the Southern edge of the East Barrens.
  • You can see a large rock in the distance.
  • APproaching this rock from the area with the ruined pillars can attract the attention of Molduking.
  • Approach this rock and climb up to its top to find Traysi.
  • She will recognize Link from his time in Gerudo Town but also promise to keep it a secret.
  • She has a bit more to tell you about the Molduking, then it is time for you to fight it.

  • Now it is time to fight the Molduking.
  • This massive beast is a bit tougher and more durable than the other Molduga.
  • First, get onto one of the numerous stone pillars in the area you can see the Molduking.
  • You can fight the Molduking on the ground, it is just riskier initially.
  • Start by dropping a square Remote Bomb on the ground and luring the Molduking over to you.
  • It will leap up and shallow the Remote Bomb.
  • It will then crash onto the ground on its side.
  • Immediately rush it and attack with a Lightning Weapon to do maximum damage.
  • You can also keep some distance and use a multi-shot bow with Shock Arrows to do massive damage with each volley.
  • The bombs will work until the Molduking has been reduced to around or below half health.
  • At this point, the arrows are your best chance to hurt the boss.
  • At this point, it will be swimming through the sand at surface level.
  • Use the pillars to stay out of the sand and have a safe spot to engage the Molduking.
  • When defeated, it will drop all the weapons that are stuck in it and 3 Chests.
  • This will also reveal the shrine: Keive Tala Shrine.
  • Go inside the shrine and complete its trial: Big or Small Trial.

Dialogue[edit]

Unknown Voice: I applaud your courage in coming here. The locations that will be revealed to you are of trials that will enhance the power sleeping within. Do not let your guard down...

Kass: What was that...flash of light? Perhaps it was my imagination playing tricks on me. Hm? How strange to see someone else at this ample altitude. I wonder what brought him here... Oh! How embarrassing. I'm afraid traveling on my own encourages me to talk to myself on occasion. This monument... I must admit it has taken me by surprise! My teacher's unfinished song mentions such monuments, and now one has appeared before my eyes...

Link: Unfinished song?

Kass: Yes. The song is mostly complete. However... My teacher left this world without finishing the key verses. I wish to weave the missing pieces together and finish the song. That's why I'm roaming the areas mentioned in the lyrics. Ah, such a rush of happiness I feel at being able to sing while the Divine Beast watches over us... The song my teacher left behind. There's a verse about the trials that Champion Urbosa overcame. Allow me to sing it for you...

Kass: Lightning king of the desert. Naboris's Champion, the stalwart. The hero's power shall grow. Seek trials monuments show./One, fight the brute of the sand./Two, chase rings upon the land./ Three, throw the orb underground. Champion, trials abound!

Kass: ... So? Did the verse move you? It was written in honor of the Champion challenging the trial. Hmm... It's as though the Champions are speaking to me through the song... I hear their silent plea for its completion. That's why I must learn more about the Champion's of Hyrule's past... Luckily, the Gerudo chief, Riju and her guard, Buliara, shared some precious tales of their Champion with me. I'm grateful I was able to visit Gerudo Town, even though I had to... well, leave my comfort zone a bit.

Teake: Sav'otta! to think the Gerudo would be able to learn something of combat from a Hylian... Will you consider joining our forces?

Link: I'd love to!

Teaka: Ha ha ha! That's reassuring to hear! However, I already spoke to the chief about you... You're on a very important mission, aren't you? Once you've finished that task, we'd gladly accept you alongside us. By the way... I hear a strange type of Molduga was spotted nearby the East Barrens recently. A Hylian named Traysi went there looking for... how did she put it... "a hot scoop." I hope she didn't bite off more than she could chew.

Traysi: Hm? What is THIS?! Could it be... Are you that pretty gal I saw in Gerudo Town? I'm right, aren't I? Don't try to hide it! it doesn't matter WHAT you wear. These eyes see ALL. Traysi wasn't born yesterday, after all! Ooooh, I see, I see. It's because only women can enter Gerudo Town. Clever boy. That's quite the scoop, but ... I'm sure you had your reasons. I'll keep that gossip to myself. That's called "integrity." You probably guessed as much, but... I'm tracking down some juicy gossip. Since you're here, I'll do you a favor and let you in on a rumor I haven't even published yet. Just when you thought you could relax... when the Divine Beast had settled and the lightning had stopped... Boom! A Mysterious Molduga shows up! How's that for a scoop?! Apparently the Gerudo soldiers tried fighting it, but normal swords didn't even make a dent. I wonder what weapon would work against something like that...

Summary[edit]

The scattered One-Hit Obliterator led you to a location where a stone monument with a map of trials appeared. Kass's song seems related...

One, fight the brute of the sand.

Two, chase rings upon the land.

Three, throw the orb underground.

Champion, trials abound!

  • The Molduking is very vulernable to Shock attacks. A multishot bow can defeat it in just a few volleys, especially if it has the 5x multiplier.
