The Infected are Hyperion Workers on Helios Station that were in the maintenance tunnels when a plague started in the area. They were sealed in the tunnels and left for dead. The Hyperion workers who know what happened to them now called these infected people "Boils" because of the pustules that are a symptom of the disease. They have become cannibals and are looking for fresh meat.
