Walkthrough

• Time to take on the Hive Mind Necromorph.
• To begin, fire at the Yellow Growths around its mouth.
• After you destroy ~3 of them, it will reel back.
• It starts to launch growths at Isaac.
• You can use Kinesis to grab and throw them back at it (?)
• Steadily pick away the growths around the Hive Mind's Mouth.
• Destroying the growths will move you to the second phase.
• You now have a number of Necromorphs to deal with: Slashers, and Exploders.
• Destroy them as they emerge.
• Just keep killing the Necromorphs until the Hive Mind starts swinging in its tentacles.
• You need to strafe the Hive Mind, moving from one edge of the arena to the other.
• After this, wait until the Hive Mind expands itself.
• This will expose its next weak point, a collection of Yellow Growths will appear in the middle of its body.
• Destroy a growth and the Hive Mind will reel back, scream, and then spray a line of Acid.
• It will likely slam down some of its tentacles after that.
• Stay on the move, steadily going from left to right to avoid the attacks.
• Eventually its chest will open again.
• Repeat this as needed to hurt the Hive Mind in this phase.
• Once you've destroyed 3 of the Growths, it changes its pattern a bit.
• The Hive Mind will do 3 Acid Sprays, making it a lot harder to avoid them, but they don't linger nearly as long.
• The first 2 Acid sprays only linger a few seconds while the third lingers for a long time.
• Try to linger on the right-hand side of the arena so they are next to each other and giving you the best area to move around.
• Steadily move to the left as the Hive Mind sprays.
• Watch out for it rearing back, since that is normally followed by a Tentacle Slam.
• Destroying all of the Growths will bring you into the final stand.
• The Hive Mind will grab Isaac by his leg.
• You now need to destroy the growth in its mouth while suspended.
