Task 2 - Depleted Hand Cannon (Hive)[edit]
The weapon seems dead ... but hungry.
The lingering energies of the Hive you've defeated seep into the weapon.
Perhaps it could be further empowered.
Kill 500 Hive enemies on the Moon. Regular Hive are worth 1 point. Majors (Yellow health bar) are worth 20 points. Ultras (Skull Icon Yellow Health Bar) are worth 50 points.
Task 3 - Depleted Hand Cannon (Crucible)[edit]
The hand cannon seethes with the dark energies of the Hive you've defeated. It seems ... eager for more power.
Go to the Crucible and allow the weapon to feast off the Light of defeated Guardians.
Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible. Death will slow your progress.
You must get 500 points. Each kill with Void Damage is worth 5 points. Each Death costs you 2 points.
Rocket Launchers and Shotguns are your best friends. The more kills the better.
Task 4 - Corrupted Hand Cannon[edit]
There is Darkness in this weapon. You can hear its whispers urging you on. Perhaps this plan was ... reckless.
Take this to the Speaker for advice.
Head to the Tower and go over to The Speaker. He will give you another bounty:
"This is the weapon of Dredgen Yor, whose name is now a curse. It has not yet claimed you completely, Guardian. Be thankful for that."
"I can stop the blight from spreading. But you must cleanse the weapon, and yourself, with an infusion of Light."
Get an Infusion of Light from The Speaker. It will cost 1 Mote of Light.
Task 5 - Talk to Ikora Rey[edit]
"The Speaker examines you, and then the weapon. 'The Corruption still lingers. You must seek out and sever the weapon's bond with its Hive master.'"
"'Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard, may know more.'"
Speak to Ikora Rey.
Task 6 - Corrupted Thorn[edit]
"Defeat the minions of Phogoth until Xyor the Unwed is summoned."
"But, be warned... You must keep Phogoth alive until the death of Xyor."
Kill Xyor, the Unwed
You must be running the Summoning Pits at Level 26 difficulty. This is exclusive to this bounty and Matchmaking is not available. This can be occasionally accessed through the Vanguard Roc playlist.
Xyor, the Unwed will appear during the battle with Phogoth, the Untamed. This Wizard appears with the third Hive Tombship. You must keep Phogoth alive until that point. Kill Xyor then take out Phogoth to complete the Strike.
Task 7 - Unbound Thorn[edit]
Return to the Speaker. He will give you the final reward: Thorn.
