The Mission Objective Defeat the Flayers in Destiny.

“.”

“Defeat the Flayers” is an objective in the Strike Dust Palace in Destiny.

Walkthrough[edit]

Time for the final battle of this Strike. There is a lot to deal with so be ready. Wait while Ghost clears the Flayers out. First to appear is Kolar, Psion Flayer. With Kolar you will also encounter Vatch, Psion Flayer and Numoc, Psion Flayer.

Kolar tends to remain on the far left-hand side of the area. It will circle around the boxes nearby its spawn point. It shifts to respond to incoming attacks. It is very quickly joined by more Cabal. Expect to deal with Legionaries and some Phalanx. Occasionally a Centurion can head over into the area. Take these out quickly because of the high damage output they have.

Vatch, Psion Flayer is the next closest Flayer. This one favors the walkway just behind where you fought Kolar. Largely it will use the crate nearby the landing platform for cover and attack from there. If the Fire-Team advances on it enough, it will break from there. It will then use the Landing platform and its cover to attack the Team.

Numoc, Psion Flayer is likely the final Flayer. This Flayer resides opposite Kolar, Psion Flayer. It will enter the fray if Vatch crosses over onto the landing platform. Numoc acts very much like Vatch. It favors ranged attacks but seems a bit more aggressive than the others. It will dart in and out of cover to attack the Fire-Team. Watch for the numerous adds and take this final target out.

Whenever you are dealing with a Psion Flayer, have the Fire-Team focus on just one. This makes it a lot easier to punch through the shield protecting them and start inflicting damage. This also lets someone work on the Flayer as well as the various adds you will be dealing with.
