The Fanatic is a different kind of Goblin. These are focused on finding Guardians and blowing up next to them. Not too different from the Cursed Thrall.
These Exploding Robots have another agenda though. If the Fanatic is destroyed or explodes, it releases the marking gas held inside its body. This gives the unfortunate Guardian the Mark of Negation. If the Templar completes the Ritual of Negation before the Guardian is cleansed with the fountain in the middle of the area, they are killed.
