More a ranged fighter. They are equipped with a thermal shield that will do damage to anyone who gets close enough to them.
Disciples are stronger and more durable. Just like their other counterparts, they are vulnerable in the center of their torso.
They can also create a Solar Shield. This shield cannot be broken. If the Guardian is close to them, they will start burning. This inflicts damage over time as long as you are in range.
