“Hunt Taniks, the Scarred” is an objective in the Strike The Shadow Thief in Destiny: House of Wolves
Walkthrough[edit]
Follow the walkway over to the left, take the stairs up and head through the doorway on the right. Keep running forward through this sensor room into the next one. Variks will be cut off from you because Taniks is jamming the comms. The next few rooms are empty as Taniks will challenge the Guardians in the ways of old. Just keep moving forward until you reach Traitor's Ketch.
Inside this room you will encounter more vandals. Just after you get through them, you will see a familiar foe appear: Taniks.
Once again, he is armed with a Scorch Cannon. There are a number more Vandals that will come in from the back of the room and the sides to support their leader. Be sure to watch where you are moving. There are some odd pitfalls found in this chamber.
With a group, have two people focus on the adds and have one person just focus on blasting Taniks away. There are a lot of foes rushing in here so be on guard. In their number is at least one Wolf Captain to deal with. The Captain will not appear until after Taniks has vanished for the second time.
Head through the door that opens on the far side of the room. Take the stairs down deeper into the Ketch. This will lead to a large room. You will have a few Dreg rush into the room to get at the Guardians. They first come from the back, but quickly start appearing along the sides of the room as well to attack those hanging back. You will find Captains and Vandals scattered throughout as well. Watch out for them as the Shrapnel Blasters and Wire Rifles do very significant damage. Get through a portion of the fight and the next part begins.
