Begin the Ascent is an objective in Spire of the Watcher.

"Venture deeper into the complex and ascend the Spire. Open up a route to the Pillory signal's source."

Walkthrough[edit]

Descend into the Tower[edit]

  • With the first power bank activated, it's time to start a descent to climb up the Spire itself.
  • Go to the bank which has had an opening revealed.
  • There is a long slide here to jump onto.
  • Ride it on down, jumping to cushion the landing.
  • You are just in front of a large vault door.
  • The Door itself isn't the way in.
  • Turn from the door and jump onto the shelf to the left-hand side (to the right of where you came in).
  • From there long jump across the room and land on the top platform.
  • On this platform go forward then over to the left.
  • Just before the corner you will find a narrow doorway into a vent.
  • Go inside the passage and duck down.
  • This brings you into a vent system that you need to navigate.
  • Inside the vents, you will want to go straight forward to the first wall.
  • Duck and turn to the right, you will find a small vent opening there.
  • Head through the vent and follow it.
  • Emerging from the vent, look to the left.
  • Duck and jump across the tops of the tanks here.
  • This will lead to a large room with gaps that are either white or red lit.
  • Go to the third red-lit gap and jump down it.
  • Follow the pipes down.
  • This will lead you to the Reactor Firewall
  • You will need to explore the room you are in to progress forward.
    • If you jump down to the tanks below the walkway, close to the door, there is a blue glowing screen with a House of Devils insignia on it.
  • Head to the bank of controls in front of you.
  • From there, go over to the left.
  • Approach the door in front of you, but stop just a bit in front of you.
  • Look to the right, toward the ceiling.
  • You will see a red-lit area above you.
  • You want to jump up and climb through the opening on the right-hand side.
  • Jump up onto the narrow ledge just above you and then jump up to reach the metal grating above that.
  • Keep going upwards to emerge from the red-lit section.
  • It's time for the jumping puzzle of the dungeon.

The Jumping Puzzle[edit]

  • This is the easier, low key one to deal with throughout the dungeon.
  • There are some Fallen to fight through (Vandals, Heavy Shanks, Shanks, but it's mostly going to be the odd Hobgoblin.
  • Start by running forward onto the catwalk in front of you.
  • Jump across the gap here to find a few Hobgoblins.
  • Be careful landing on the far side, you will find a number of Harpies (and the odd Quantum Harpy and an Incarcerator Hydra.
  • Jump over to the left and down to the catwalk there.
  • Go to the suspended platform, so jump up onto the box nearby the pillar you just descended from.
  • Run and jump out to the platform.
  • Once again, you will need to jump across the gap to the next suspended bars.
  • Turn to the left and jump up over to suspended platform above you there.
  • Across the gap, past the walkway, you will see more Harpies teleport in.
  • Turn to the right and carefully long jump over to the next suspended platform.
  • This next jump is a bit trickier.
  • There is a pillar just in front of you (a bit to the left).
  • You will need to long jump to a narrow ledge on its closest side to you.
  • Head over to the right on it and then jump over to the next platform nearby.
  • On this platform, jump up onto the ledge just above the platform you landed on.
  • Continue climbing up using the platforms to reach the top of the catwalk here.
  • Go across the catwalk to the far end, jumping across the gap.
  • There are a few Harpies appearing the left.
  • Shoot them down if desired, otherwise look just to the right of the catwalk.
  • Jump from the catwalk you are on to the next catwalk to the right which has an Incarcerator Hydra, as well as Harpies and Hobgoblins.
  • Drop to the catwalk just below the one you are on.
  • You will need to jump around the next pillar to land on the next section of catwalk in front of you.
  • Destroy the Harpies and then step into the blue light in front of you.
  • This will bring you up to the next control room, Pillory-0 Cell Stack.

Climb the Spire[edit]

  • Head into the office and then go over to the left into the hallway.
  • Here, turn to the right and look up to find the path forward.
  • Time to jump upwards more to continue your ascent.
  • You will need to alternate sides to complete the climb.
  • Once there, head into the vent shaft in front of you.
  • Turn to the left, duck and go forward, dropping down through the opening in front of you.
  • This will bring you to the Ares Spire, where the next objective is.
