The Wellspring: Defend is an activity in the Witch Queen.

Defend the Wellspring[edit]

  • Anyone in the Fireteam can start the activity by interacting with the shard found between the massive brazier and the door.
  • There is a circle where Fireteam members can plant a Raid Banner for a rally point to charge your Abilities, Super, and fill all finite ammo.

Defend the Wellspring: Charging the Spring[edit]

  • The Fireteam should split for this portion of the activity.
  • 2-3 Guardians should stay nearby the Brazier to aid in its charging.
  • The rest will want to clear the area of all the Scorn that they can.
  • You will encounter a number of Corrupted Stalkers, Stalkers, Screebs, Deranged Abominations, Chieftians, Corrupted Chieftain,
  • In the room between the starting chamber and the next one, you will encounter 2 Shielded Deranged Abominations, Ravagers and more.
  • These cannot be defeated until the first portion is complete(?)
  • This section is completed by charging the Wellspring to 100% with Guardians nearby it.

Cruxes Cleared[edit]

  • Start this section by approaching the Shard at the front of the barrier in the back of the room.
  • There is a rally point in the room that had the Shielded Abominations.
  • Once the barrier drops, the fighting resumes.
  • This section has a different take on things.
  • In the first hallway, there is a large Splinter with 2 small Cruxes adjacent.
  • These Cruxes have to be destroyed for progress to be made through the activity.
  • The first time lifts the barrier blocking access to the main chamber.
  • There are a number more Scorn as well as a Scorn Walker.
  • There are 4 Large Cruxes and they will each have a number of small Cruxes
  • The first 2 closest to the door, to the left and right of the Scorn Walker will only have 2 Cruxes that need to be destroyed.
  • In the second set, closer to the open arches, you will find have 3 Cruxes that need to destroyed.
  • Destroying both sets will bring additional Scorn, as well as another large Crux.
  • This one has the most Cruxes, about 4.
  • Clear out the Cruxes to move forward and onto the next part of the activity.

Defeat the Lightslayer[edit]

  • Once again, there is a rallying point to refresh ability, Super, and ammo.
  • Time for the big fight here.
  • When Vezuul, Lightflayer reappears in the first section of the bridge, a large Fragment will appear.
  • Defeat the Scorn until the Cruxes appear.
  • These Fragments offer protection to the Lightflayer.
  • Until the Fragment's Cruxes are destroyed, no damage can be done to the Lightflayer.
  • The first Fragment will have 2 Cruxes.
  • This will start a damage phase against the Lightslayer.
  • After clearing out 1/3 of the Lightslayer's health, he will move to the middle of the bridge you are on.
  • Once again, fight through the Scorn until the Fragment creates its 3 Cruxes.
  • Breaking the Cruxes will start another damage phase, up to another 33% of the Lightslayer's health.
  • The final large Splinter has 4 cruxes.
  • Destroy the cruxes to remove the shield.
  • Just destroy the Cruxes each time to render the Lightflayer vulnerable.
  • Each time, a SUper should be used to do massive burst damage.
