Dialog[edit]

I[edit]

Magister Siwan - There! Not too tight, I hope? The collar I mean. Oh, not to worry: every dog has to get used to its leash. In the meantime, your next stop will be Magister William. Every passenger has to be registered in the ship's manifest, and he's the chap 1n charge of the logs.

[MYSTIC] Say you had along black dream about a ship, sailing the river of the dead. But you‘re not dead, are you?

Magister Siwan - No... You're alive and you're having a conversation. You are on a ship of course, but luckily for us both we're merely sailing the plain old sea.

Narrator - Index fingers pressed to her lips, she pauses a moment to give you a scrutinising gander.

Magister Siwan — My word, you do seem to be a bit befuddled, don't you? Perhaps I was a bit too generous with that sedative... Oh well, I‘m sure you‘ll soon gather your wits. Most likely. Eventually. In the meantime, all you need to know is that we're en route to Fort Joy. A new life awaits! And if you're a particularly good girl, perhaps a cure as well. An end to Source for good!

You pull at the thing around your neck, futilely. Demand to know why she collared you.

Magister Siwan - Why, for my peace of mind of course. Why don't you try casting one of those Source spells of yours? See what happens...

[LOHSE] *Recall the power building inside you: the sound and the fury and the madness. Unleash it!*

Narrator — *Currents of magic surge inside you, boiling, bursting, then... breaking, only to fade back into your soul like rain into the earth.*

Magister Siwan - My, look at the concentration on your face! All will, but no result. There you have it, see: the collar‘s function. It... neuters you, of sorts. Makes you unable to cast Source. For your own peace of mind, of course. Yours and the whole world's.

II[edit]

[SOLDIER] Give the Magister quick salute and report for duty on the good ship...

Magister Siwan - The good ship Merryweather. But you can stand at ease there, private. You do realise you're not in any army here, don't you?

You pull at the thing around your neck, futilely. Demand to know why she collared you.

Magister Siwan - Why, for my peace of mind of course. Why don't you try casting one of those Source spells of yours? See what happens...

[IFAN] *You recall the power building inside you: the wolf of the soul becoming real. Unleash it!*

III[edit]

[OUTLAW] *Look around warily, and wonder what damnable dungeon you ended up in this time.*

Magister Siwan - Dungeon? You have the gall to call my laboratory a dungeon? I'd b quite annoyed with you if you didn't look so honestly perplexed.

Strategy Guide/Tips[edit]

  • Magister Siwan is the first NPC you encounter in the game
  • You can attack - and easily kill - Magister Siwan. However, if you do that, more Magisters will come from the door and you will have to either persuade them that you did not kill Magister Siwan, or fight them all.
    • Magister Siwan does not carry any notable loot anyway so it's not worth killing him.
  • Magister Siwan is standing next to an Ancient Book, located on a pedestal. You can read it, but cannot pick it up or destroy it. The book is titled: "On Magicks Faire And Foul"

Quotes[edit]

  • "Now where did I leave my Callipers?"
  • "What a well of knowledge this tome is! Dallis is such a dear lending It to me."
  • "Ah, you're up. Yes... looks like that collar fits you smuggly enough. Nice bit of work, even if I do say so myself."
  • "Off to the herd, little sheep. Away you go!"
