Dialog[edit]

I[edit]

Zillik - You got a good reason for bargin' into a private room, buddy?

Ifan ben-Mezd ’ *Tell him his cell was unlocked.*

Zillik — And? Got no reason to scramble out, me. S‘hot and busy out there. S‘cool and quiet in here. Or at least, it used to be.

Ifan ben—Mezd - *‘Tell him you're looking for a way out; does he know of anything?‘

Zillik - Out? You must be mad. Head out one way, you're back in the Joy among the rabble. Head out another, you're knee deep in the Hollow Marshes. I‘ll take a nice, quiet cell any day of the week and twice on Lucian's Day.

Ifan ben—Mezd - *Take your leave.*

Zillik — 'fore ya go. You haven't meta particular fella here, have you? Tall, black beard, intense way of lookin‘ at ya, penchant for metaphor?

Ifan ben-Mezd - *Say he sounds familiar, but you can‘t be sure.*

Zillik - Wouldn't be surprised if you'd met him before. Fella gets around, believe you me. Half of me's afraid he's gonna try and save me from this place. Anyhoo. Thanks and g'luck, I guess. Though if you know what's what, you'll take a load off and let the dice fall where they're gonna fall.

II[edit]

Zillik - Get that girl and her head—sucker outta here!

Lohse — I... uh... guess he's talking about you?

Ifan ben-Mezd - *Tell her she ought to address him. He seems to know something about her*

Lohse — Let's just see about that. Hey! Loud- mouth! What gives?

Zillik - I'm tryin' to relax here, aren't I? Whatever's going on with you and your passenger, I don't really need it in my vicinity.

Lohse — You can... you can see it?

Zillik — See? Nay. Sense? Good gods, yes.

Lohse — You're a mystic too?

Zillik — Mystic? HAH. Used to be a sorta demonologist though. Was learning the arts, at least. Never did have much of a knack for it, t'be honest. Studied under a real maestro, though; learned this 'n' that, too.

Ifan ben—Mezd - *He's a demonologist? Ask if he can help you with whatever's in Lohse's head.*

Zillik - Doubt it! Exorcism's :1 tier three skill. I was only halfway through tier one when I got thrown in here. Lohse - C'mon, make yourselfusefirl! There's got to be something you can do...

Zillik — Well... I might be able to tell you exactly what's inside you. Might be any number of things: A ghost, a floater, a lucid dreamer who took a wrong turn somewheres... Let me try something... ing...

Narrator — *He places a thumb on each of Lohse‘s temples and one foot gently on hers.’*

Zillik - Now, l-e-e-e-t's see... WHOA! Holy, holy, holy... You oughta thank your lucky stars that thing hasn't turned you into a meat puppet by now.

Lohse — Crick on a cracker...

Zillik — You need help. Serious help.

Lohse — *Sigh* Don‘t I know it. Zillik - Do me a favour: Get out of here, and hie ye to the north of Driftwood. My old master was hot on the heels of something there, and if anyone can help you, he can.

Lohse - Driftwood. Old master. Hot heels. Got it.

Ifan ben-Mezd — *Ask for his master's name.*

Zillik — I... don't dare say it now. Not while her guest is listening. Don't you worry. With something like that inside you, Lohsc, he'll either come to you, or you‘ll be drawn to him soon enough.
