Strategy Guide/Tips[edit]

Killing the Raiders[edit]

Clearing the Raiders is the easy part:

  • You can snipe the Raiders from the roof at the beginning. Though you'll probably want to jump down to the street at some stage to finish the job.
  • The Raiders should die pretty fast from your Minigun. Your companion, Dogmeat can also help against them.

How to beat Concord Deathclaw[edit]

The Deathclaw is the most challenging enemy in this fight. The Concord Deathclaw is most likely the first Deathclaw you meet in the game.

There are several strategies that can help you kill Deathclaw. You you find yourself dying a lot in this quest, here are some things you can try:

  • Keep some Raiders alive until Deathclaw shows up. The Deathclaw and the Raiders will fight each other, distracting the Deathclaw as well as having the Raiders inflict a small amount of damage to the Deathclaw.
  • Lure the Deathclaw towards the Balcony, from where Preston Garvey provides fire support.
  • Dogmeat can serve as a distraction, but gets knocked down fast so don't rely on him
  • Don't waste minigun Ammo against the raiders. Dogmeat can deal with them, or you can just use melee attacks.
  • Shoot cars near Deathclaw. The blast will deal a good amount of damage to him.
  • Finally, if all else fails and you keep getting killed, try entering one of the houses, such as the one in front of the museum entrance. You can shoot Deathclaw through the doors and windows of the buildings and hit Deathclaw, while Deathclaw won't be able to enter the houses since he is too big, and since he only has melee attacks, he won't be able to hit you while you bombard him with minigun fire.
