Prerequisites[edit]
Must have: The Secret of Cabot House to enter the Asylum.
Need to Level 10+ and completed Special Delivery and Emogene Takes a Lover
Special Delivery is triggered by killing guards outside the Asylum then finding and talking with Edward Deegan who can be found in 1 of 4 locations: Dungout Inn and Colonial Taphouse in Diamond City, Third Rail in Goodneighbor or the Market area of Bunker Hill.

Enter the Asylum. Go through the doors to the Southeast.
In the next room turn to the right. Go through the doorway to the Southwest.
From there, turn to the left and head into the Elevator. Take it down to the basement below this section of the Asylum.
Exit the elevator and head forward. Go past the table then enter the door to the left.
Follow the corridor around to reach the holding cell of Lorenzo Cabot.
Decide Lorenzo's fate then open his cell. The magazine sits in back right corner of the cell.

Enter the Hospital through the main entrance. Go up the first set of stairs to the Left. Follow them to the North.
Go up the portion of collapsed floor in front of you to reach the Western portion of the second floor.
Go into the first office you find on the right.
Look on the desk inside on the right. You will find the journal sitting in the middle of it.

You must be on MacCready quest: Long Road Ahead to access the proper area of the facility where you can find the magazine. You must make your way to the objective to find the Journal you are looking for.
Head inside the Med-Tek Research building to get started.
Once inside, head around the recepection desk to the North and go through the backleft door behind it.
In this room, turn to the right and go through the door immediately there.
Go down the hallway to the East and then up the stairs at the far end.
When you reach the top of the stairs, make your way to the South (left). Just to your left is some collapsed floor. Take that up to the next level.
At the top of the collapsed floor, head to the South and through the door in the Southern part of the room
Head across the way to the West through the corridor overlooking the entrance and into the second room to the West.
In this second room, head for the terminal that you can see on the desk in the back right of the room. This is the Executive Terminal. You will need Jacob's Password to access it and lift the lockdown on the facility. MacCready will give you the password when he gets close to the terminal. This will let you gain access to the portion of the facility with your destination.
Access the terminal and choose: "Alert Override: Off". This will lift the lockdown on the facility.
Head out of the room to the East now. Make your way back to the collapsed floor and return to the second level.
From the collapsed floor, go to the Northeastern part of the room. There is a doorway to a stairwell there, drop down it to the ground floor.
Go to the West as you exit the stairwell. When you reach the room with the terminal mounted on the wall, go to the terminal. This will let you access the airlock to the right of it and clear the way to the lower portion of the research facility.
Go through the airlocks to the West and into the next portion of the facility. You can hop over the desk and reach a nearby security terminal to open the next door you need to open to continue forward.
Through that Western door, turn to the South and start down the corridor there. Take this passage to the next door. Open it and head through.
Go up the stairs on the other side of the door. Go North and into the room there.
Inside that room, immediately turn to the left and go around there corner. This will lead to the elevator that you are looking for. Take it to the Sub Levels of the Med-Tek Research Facility.
Exit the elevator and head to the South through the doorway.
Turn to the East through the next doorway after that. Cross over to the terminal on the far eastern side. Use it to release the mag-locks on some more security doors.
Head out of the terminal room and make your way down to the level below it. Go through the middle door on the Southern side. It is easy to simply hop the railing and head directly for the doorway.
This room has some collapsed floor. Take it downward. Follow the corridor it leads to.
In the next room, go to the East and head through the doorway there. Turn to the left and follow the corridor.
When you make it out of the corridor, go to the right and take the stairs down. You are nearly there.
Head to the West and follow the wall on your left. Turn to the South and then go to the terminal you can see to the right of the door.
Open the door's mag-locks using the terminal and head inside.
Go to the small table just past the counter top. You will find the Journal sitting there. It is on the right-most edge.

Enter Cambridge Polymer Labs and go to the second floor. Use the stairs in the back right of the lobby. Go to the left and turn right to find the double doors.

These doors are Master Level locked. Pick it open to make it inside. You will be attacked by the Feral Ghoul of the Director.
Go over to the desk and claim the Journal sitting on it.

Go through to the main lobby of Greenetech Genetics. Head for the lit up stairwell to the right.
At the top of the stairs, head to the West through either doorway ahead of you. Go to the doorway on the far Western side. Turn to the North in this green corridor and take the stairs you find there upwards.
Go into the second room on the right on the floor you arrive on. This is just after the lavatory.
The Journal is sitting on the round table between the red couches in the room with the dark tile floor. They are just inside to the left from the doorway in.

Pre-requisites[edit]
To get this magazine you need to find and turn in 10 Overdue Books to the Boston Public Library. You need 50 tokens to get this magazine and each Overdue book is worth 5.
Location[edit]
Enter the library from its main entrance. Go up the grand staircase and go to the right. Take the staircase all the way up.
When you reach the top, head to the South either through the rooms or the corridor there.
Turn to the West and take the next corridor in that direction.
This will lead you to the Book Return Terminal in the Southern part of the building. Go and interact with it.
Go to the book return and interact with it. Choose to return the books. This will get the tokens. Now, choose to redeem the tokens. The third option from the top is the Surgical Journal.

Get inside Cabot House. Once inside, go up the staircase in front of you to the South. From there, continue to the South and take the next set of stairs upwards.

Go down the short hallway that leads to the bedrooms. You want to head into the Northeastern bedroom in front of you.

Head inside Sandy Shores Convalescent Home and then go behind the reception desk in front of you.
Hack the central terminal on the reception desk.
This will let you open the locked door to the West. Inside there is the Journal you are looking for.

Enter the Blood Clinic through the gap in the corner. Expect a number of Bugs to be here and attacking you. Go up the ramp in front of you to the South.
Cross over to the far Eastern side. Hack the terminal that is locking the door (Advanced). Go inside.
Once in the small room, go to the desk with the computer on it. Sitting on that desk is the Journal.
Grab the magazine to complete the collection.
