Walkthrough[edit]

Head down the corridor that rests behind the numerous doors that guard the Mechanist's Lair. Head down to the security door in front of you. When Ada approaches it with the M-SAT upgrade, they will open for her and you. Head through both of these doors.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Head to left and turn to the right. There is a Security Gate (Advanced) that you can lockpick for some extra loot. Across from the Security Door you will grab a Fusion Core you cam grab and add to your collection.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

There are a number of laser scanners you will need to get past. You simply need to approach any of the lasers and start disarming them. This will give you some useful supplies and clear the way forward.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Go to the left immediately after you get through the security checkpoint. There will be a locked Security Gate (Expert) in front of you. Break in, if you can, to gain access to a few ammo crates and other useful items. An Eyebot will come toward you and deliver a message from the Mechanist. He will applaud you for using his technology against you. After that, you will need to fight through a number of Robots that are all coming after you. This includes Cybermech Eyebot, Intergrated Junkbots, Junkbots

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Defeat the robots and go to the West. You will find another scanner which will let you pass when your robot companion scans it.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Head to the Northwest and go through the next door. There are some useful junk items. Go through the door and down the stairs beyond it. There are Servomech Junkbot, Servomech Tankbots, Cybermech Scrapbot and Scrapbots.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

To the West, you can move forward. Be careful because there is a Machinegun Turret. There is another Cybermech Scrapbot supporting it.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Get over to the Southwest to move forward. Go up the ramp in the next room. Be careful because there is a Legendary Quantum Junkbot. Defeat it and continue to the East into the next large room.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

There is a Machinegun Turret keeping guard here. This turret is found to the West, back the way you just came in. There is another pair to the East, both over the doors which will open when you get close. Just inside the door you will encounter another Cybermech Tankbot and an Intergrated Swarmbot. Defeat them then use the walkway in front of the small chamber that the Tankbot came out of to move forward.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Open the door to the East and turn to the North. The next door ahead on the right will let you move forward if you have your Robot Companion with you. There are a number of useful Junk Items scattered throughout the area. Go over to the door(s) and have your companion open the door for you.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Continue to the South. The door in front of you is locked from the other side. The one to the South simply requires Ada to be present and open the way for you. Continue down the corridor to the South.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

You will encounter another Cybermech Eyebot sent by the Mechanist to taunt you as you move forward. Definitely on the right path. Head around the corner to find a Robot Workbench and more foes to deal with. You will need to deal with a Legendary Cybermech Scrapbot supported by a few other Robots.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Defeat them and head to the South from the Robot Workbench. To the West is a small Substation Terminal you can access on the upper walkway using the ramp. This will let you learn a bit about the power setup in the past and more about what RobCo was doing in the depths of the Service Center.

You can keep forward by going to the South. Follow it around to the East. This will lead to a set of lockers and a Scrapbot that is waiting to start running from its resting position. Head along the corridor it runs into to find a Power Armor Station. Use this for any quick repairs you need to make.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

head around the fence from the Power Armor Station and go to the shutter door. There is a button to raise the shutter on the right-hand side of the door. This leads to a large room with a number more Robots in it. You will face off against Intergrated Scrapbots, Cybermech Scrapbots and Scrapbots. Head to the East in this room and take the stairs in this far part up to press on.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

This leads to a generator room. Take the first turn South through to the far side of the room. Going much farther over will have you fall back into the previous part. On the left-hand wall in this generator room you will find a Facility Management Terminal to see more of what was going on. Just next to it is a Weapons Workbench for any adjustments you might want to make. Continue South then West.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

As you are exiting the Generator room, another Mechanist Eyebot will come in and threaten you. Destroy it then press forward. Push the button on the left-hand side platform when you are on it. This will trigger the lift which will take you across the whole of the room.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

At the other end, follow the corridor forward. This will lead to another door you need Ada to open. Go through the doorway and turn to the right.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Take the stairs down to the North then look East. You will find another Access port that Ada needs to scan.

Inside this room there is a desk opposite where you come in. The terminal will detail what was happening with the Robobrains here. In one of the niches in this desk is a holotape you can listen to. Just next to the desk is a door leaning to a small room. Inside it you can find some Junk for some quick repairs if needed.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Head to the Southeastern part of the room beyond. Go through the door there to press forward. This will take you into the Holding Cell area. A few of the cells are locked (Advanced). Inside you can find additional loot.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

When you get to the far end, go past the bars. On the right you will find a Circuit Breaker that you can activate. This sounds an alarm and opens all the cell doors. This awakens all the ghouls inside the area. They will start shambling toward you. This does include at least one, possibly two, Legendary Feral Ghouls. Head to the Eastern end of this holding area. There is an elevator button to the left of the circuit breaker. Press it and wait for the elevator to arrive. Take it down deeper into the facility using the button inside it.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

In this area, go forward then turn to the West as soon as you can to keep going forward.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

The next room will not treat you well. There are more Machinegun Turrets for you to deal with, a Quantum Robobrain as well as a few Scrapbots. Defeat them all and head to the West. Just beyond the next fence you will find a Power Armor Station for any repairs that you might need to make.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

Just past the Power Armor Station is the Robobrain Production Terminal. You can either hack it or use the password the Quantum Robobrain has in its possession. Use this to open the security door and clear the way forward.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

To the Northwest is the next door you need Ada for. Have her approach and access it. Go on through the door. You will see the marker is now in front of you. Step into the middle of the room to start the confrontation with the Mechanist.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

The battle will start with a number of Cybermech Eyebots swarming you and a few Junkbots coming out of their charge stations. This is follow by a second wave of robots. This second wave has more Junkbots and some Cybermech Swarmbots. There is also a Turretbot in the third wave with yet more Eyebots.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

After that, he will send in a number of Cybermech Eyebots. These glow somewhat orange. Do not let them get close to you. They will explode and potentially kill you with enough blasts.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

There will be a brief break in the action after you get through the exploding Eyebots. The Mechanist will send in more Intergrated Scrapbots after you. The robots will appear both in front of and on the walkways above you. Shortly after, he will command the Tesla Coils to be activated. Now things shift to a simple battle of survival.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

After a time with the Tesla Coils and arcing electricity in front of the Mechanist he will call for fuel tanks to be dumped on you. When he does, retreat to either side of the area and get on the ramp or the walkways above. This will make sure you do not get hit by the exploding fuel tanks.

The power will drop to 52% or less before long. The Mechanist will tell Sparks to call in a unique robot to attack you: Duelbot. There are quite a few Cybermech Eyebots for you to deal with yet though.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

After that, he will drop some more bombs. Power will be reaching critical levels so he tells Sparks to throw everything at the Sole Survivor. A legendary Robot, like a Legendary Quantum Junkbot, and Trashbots will be sent in to deal with you. There will be more Fuel tanks dumped in from above too. Be careful and try to watch out for them. There will be more Trashbots released at you.

Stop the Mechanist - Restoring Order

After all that, the power will run out. Tell him you just want to talk with him and he will come out of his control room. With a charisma check you can get the Mechanist to unmask himself
