The Officer in charge is authorized to give the command to lower the platform when all those who have registered arrive at the Vault and are standing on the center of the platform..
Vault-Tec Security directs people from the main gate of the Vault to the Platform, and instructs them to stand on the center until the Officer gives the command to lower it.

- The officer gives the command to lower the platform at the last moment, as the nuclear detonation occurs and the mushroom cloud is seen on the horizon. He yells at the soldiers operating the platform to lower it already before it's too late.
