Walkthrough[edit]
- This begins as Cloud is climbing down the first ladder having run across the rooftop.
- Another ladder can be seen just to the left, but past that is a chest.
- Open the chest to find an Iron Bangle.
- Grab that then take the next 2 ladders down to the ground.
- Run through the open security gate and head to the Southeast.
- This will bring you into the Sector 8 Residential Area.
- Almost immediately, you will encounter another pair of Security Officers to defeat, but they have a Riot Trooper helping them.
- The Officers are easy to dispatch with just melee attacks, but the Trooper calls for more than that.
- Attack the Trooper using Magic to knock back his shield and give yourself an opening to do direct damage to him.
- Repeat as needed to defeat them.
- Keep this enemy type in mind because they are going to appear with increasing frequency as this chapter moves toward a close.
- Head to the South after the fight, until you hit the next intersection in the road.
- Here, more Security Officers will appear to ambush you.
- Defeat them and continue South.
- This will bring you to a road with a downslope and 2 sidewalks that continue level.
- Go to the West first to encounter another pair of Security Officers and find some boxes to smash.
- 1 of the boxes has a Mako Shard in it, allowing for an MP recharge.
- Go down the road next, as you reach the bottom, more Shrina security will appear: 2Grenadiers and more Security Officers as well as a pair of Riot Trooper as you go farther down the road.
- Remember to use Magic or a Grenade to break their guard, giving you an opening to attack.
- A Grenadier is just around the corner, so be on guard for anything lob into the fray.
- You can Easily dodge the Riot Troopers to reach this next portion, but you will still need to defeat them to move forward.
- Additionally you will find another Riot Trooper as well as another Security Officers and a Grenadier.
- Climb up the stairs nearby and you will find a small cafe set-up.
- Go into the Southeastern corner to find a chest with Ether.
- Head to the West from there and continue along the road and follow it to the South.
- Going around this corner, you will find another Riot Trooper.
- This is going to start a prolonged fight, defeat them to start the fighting.
- Go farther to the South, looking to the East to find the car with headlights on.
- Open the chest here to find Hi-Potion.
- After that, continue to the South to find some crates to break to find a Mako Shard (and replenish MP).
- Keep going to the South to trigger a cutscene with a large number of Security Officers, Grenadier and Riot Trooper.
- Getting through most of the fight, you will encounter the Huntsman.
- Use Magic to break his Guard with the Shield and follow it with Focused Thrust to quickly build up pressure.
- Defeat him to trigger the next cutscene of the chapter with Cloud getting onto the train.
- Another cutscene will have the team reunite on the train and head into the main section.
