They are used to forge the Gauldur Amulet during the quest Forbidden Legend

There are 3 Amulet Pieces:
1) in Folgunthur, from Mikrul Gauldurson
2) in Geirmund's Hall from Sigdis Gauldurson
3) in Saarthal from Jyrik Gauldurson
[edit] Reforging the Amulet
Once you have all 3 pieces you can go to Reachwater Rock Southeast of Markarth and assemble the amulet[1]
