Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

The protagonist of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Raiden is a cyborg whose implants allow him to perform feats in superhuman speed and strength, making him a huge asset to the Maverick Enterprises PMC.

Raiden's Cyborg Body[edit]

Raiden had his cyborg body as far back as Metal Gear Solid 4, but it has undergone significant upgrades since then.

In an early game mission, Raiden's body is destroyed in an attack by Desperado Enterprises. It is then rebuilt to be better and stronger, but at the cost of increased power consumption.

Due to the increased cost in energy to operate Raiden's new body, he will have to drain Power Cores from cybernetic enemies and drain power from the environment to keep his suit powered.

Alter Ego[edit]

Raiden has a psychotic alter ego called Jack the Ripper born as a result of his childhood years as a soldier.

This bloodthirsty persona surfaces in Raiden during the battle against Desperado, and fuels him through a bloody rampage.

Raiden must reign in his alter ego if he hopes to keep his family safe.

Raiden's Attacks[edit]

Raiden attacks enemies using a special blade capable of cutting through just about anything, from enemies to environments.

Unlike many characters in this futuristic setting, Raiden does not use guns.

Raiden can also execute a special Precision Slicing move, which slows down time and allows the player to control the trajectory of Raiden's blade with the right analog stick as it chops through anything in its path.
