Super-heroes are known for battling super-villains, but some of the most epic battles in the Marvel Universe have been between the heroes themselves!

If you want to find out which hero is the best, enter a Player vs. Player (PvP) match, where three factions of heroes fight it out for supremacy!

Joining a PvP Faction[edit]

Before entering a PvP match, you must join a PvP faction. For our PvP testing environment, there are three factions: Red, White, and Blue.

To join one of these factions, you must complete a short mission for the appropriate faction leader. These missions become available after you defeat Doctor Doom and complete the game story. One faction leader is in each of the three bases (Avengers Tower, Xavier's School, and S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier).

Each faction leader wants you to prove your valor by delivering a medal from a specific super-villain found in Castle Doom in Latveria. Return to the faction leader with the appropriate medal in your inventory and you automatically join that faction.

Watch Out! Medals Are Destroyed

When you return to a faction leader with the appropriate medal in your inventory, the medal is permanently destroyed.

Changing Factions[edit]

You can switch factions at any time by visiting a different faction leader and completing the mission associated with that character.

Entering a PvP Match[edit]

Once you join a faction, entering a PvP match is as simple as left-clicking on the colored portal next to your faction leader. You'll automatically be placed into a PvP match.

Currently, you cannot enter PvP if you are in a party.

PvP Objective[edit]

Each PvP match is a three-way battle between the Red, White, and Blue factions. There is a maximum of 15 players per faction. Your goal is to defeat as many members of the opposing team as you can!

You can tell which team another player is on by looking for symbol above their heads, next to their name.

Medkits[edit]

You can't use S.H.I.E.L.D. Medkits in PvP. You can regain health by using the red orbs dropped by defeated mobs and enemy heroes, or by staying close to your defender robot (see below).

Defenders[edit]

You enter the PvP match in your faction's home territory, which is guarded by turrets, guards, and a huge defender robot. It's easy to see who is on your side: they are colored the same as your faction!

The turrets and guards in your base only attack members of the other factions. Your defender robot not only attacks your enemies but also provides benefits to your entire faction. While you stand near your defender, you regenerate health. Additionally, as long as your defender is functional, you receive a buff regardless of where you are on the battlefield.

Enemy guards, turrets, and defenders will attack you, so be careful when raiding enemy territory! Tip! Destroy Enemy Defenders

It's a challenge, but if you destroy the defender of an enemy faction, that faction will lose the buff it provides, giving your faction a marked advantage.

Also, enemy defenders have the chance to drop some great loot!

Of course, enemy factions will try to destroy your defender for the same reasons, so be sure to keep it safe!

General PvP Rules[edit]

  • Check out your lifetime PvP Victory and Defeat stats on the Character Screen (Press C)
  • Being defeated in PvP has no negative ramifications. For example, defeats in PvP do not add to your "Defeats" total found on the

character screen, and they do not reduce the power of Bloodstone Totem artifacts.

  • There is no friendly fire. You cannot harm anyone on your faction.
  • The enemies in the middle of the map will attack members of any faction. These "neutral" enemies don't wear the colors of any faction.

Leaving PvP[edit]

When you're done battling other heroes, you can exit PvP by using the portal in your faction's territory.
