The Difference between Beam Intensifier and Beam Focus:
So both those multitool upgrades affect the mining lazer.
Beam focus speeds up collection of minerals from trees, crystals, oxide rocks etc. Anything that is full of resources and breaks all at once when you eat through its health.
The beam intensifier speeds up the rate at which you can collect from what ill call "ore deposits" which the game calls terrain. Ore deposits are things like the big blobs of gold or aluminium that you can eat through piece by piece with the mining lazer.
