- Planets with Toxic Atmosphere: Try to seek shelter in caves or abandoned life pods if you land on one.
- Carnivorous Plants
- Hostile species
- Pirates
- Sentinels (depending on temperament)

- The difficulty and level of threats increases as you approach the center of the galaxy.
- Even peaceful and docile creatures may attack you if provoked.
- Attacking space stations and other ships will lead you to being fired at
- There is a galactic police force (the sentinels) which will attack you if you cause too much trouble or when you harvest rare or protected resources.
