Strategy Guide/Tips[edit]

  • Sac Venom is very profitable, but hard to mine without sentinel interference. If you come across a planet filled with this though, there is a way around the 3-star sentinel level. If you have a boltcaster and the shotgun upgrade, you can destroy the sac venom pods and you wont get any stars. This allows you to take farming to an extreme (I only have 11 open spots in my inventory so when I fill them up with Sac Venom I sell it for over 300k).
  • If you are lucky you may find a planet full of Sac Venoms which you can farm for a lot of profit. If you stumble across a planet with Sac Venom's littering the surface, here is how to make the most of it:
    • Use your Boltcaster to mine them. With Wideshot Adaptor, you can essentially snipe them from a distance. This saves traveling time and as an added bonus, it does not draw sentinel aggro. I would also recommend all of the Reload Accelerant and Plasma Clip upgrades, so that you can mine them even quicker.
    • Mine near a Galactic Trade Terminal. I would typically find a trading post, either by flying around or locating one using a beacon, then decimate the local Sac Venom population, and then move on. It would take about 1-2 minutes to fill my inventory, a minute to sell them and return to farming, and then after about 3-5 cycles of that, maybe 3-5 minutes to find another location. About 15 minutes or so total per cycle.
    • If you draw Sentinel aggro you can leave one of the units from the first wave alive, then once the giant walker comes, kill everything. From now on, until you die or leave the planet, no more Sentinels will spawn.
    • Only keep keep whatever suit upgrades are necessary for your farming. I was using the base enhancements, the 2 jetpack upgrades, and 3 environment upgrades. This gave me 40 slots to work with, which returned a little over 1 million every time I went back to clear out my inventory.
    • If the space station is buying Sac Venom at double the price (star icon), it's worth the detour. My cycle took about 15 minutes and produced about 12 million units per hour. If you can make it to the space station and back to another suitable farming spot on the planet (pretty much anywhere on the planet) within about 8 minutes, you will be making more money. This would also require you to farm plutonium and thamium every once in a while so that you can continue making trips. I was always flying to a space station with a landing pad, so I didn't have to worry about plutonium, and I wasn't in space, so no thamium.
