Spotting is a strategic action in Planetside 2 which allows enemies seen on one player's screen to appear visible on other player's minimaps without those players having actually seen the enemy.
To spot an enemy, simply zoom in and hit the Q button with the default controls.
Spotting is an important skill, especially outside on the wide open continents, because it allows you and your squad to work together in order to out and kill the enemy armies.
