Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is a four-player melee brawler featuring twenty characters from Sony's most famous franchises, and several third-party franchises commonly associated with the Playstation brand of consoles.
Gameplay[edit]
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is a one to four-player melee brawler that blends fighting game and platformer elements. Opponents battle it out on multi-tiered stages drawn from Sony's most favorite and beloved franchises, including God of War and Ratchet and Clank.
Hitting enemies does not deal damage to them, like in other fighting games. Instead, landing successful strikes on an enemy will build a Special Meter at the bottom of the screen. Items will occasionally appear on the levels as well, and hitting enemies with these items will also build Special. This meter has three tiers, each of which takes longer to build but which will result in a more powerful attack when popped.
These specials are the only way to score points in the game. Killing an enemy with a Special will score you two points, while dying to another player's Special will lose you one point.
The player with the highest score at the end of the match's time limit is the winner.
