Pokemon Go now has a Friend List that can filled with up to 200 friends.

Adding Friends[edit]
- Tap on your trainer icon in the bottom left corner of the screen within Pokemon Go.
- Either tap the top right corner of the trainer screen where you see "Friends" or swipe below your experience bar (about where the medals are).
- You are now on your friends list.
- At the very top you will see the option to "Add Friends."
- You will now be on the screen with your Trainer Number
- Just above that you will see the field to enter their 12 digit trainer number.
- You can either their trainer number in this field and then hit "Add friend."
Trading with Friends[edit]
- Tap on your trainer icon in the bottom left corner of the screen within Pokemon Go.
- Either tap the top right corner of the trainer screen where you see "Friends" or swipe below your experience bar (about where the medals are).
- You are now on your friends list.
- Tap on the person you want to trade with.
- On the right-hand side, below the trainer and their buddy, you will see the option to trade.
- This will send a trading invite to that friend.
- Once there, you can offer a Pokemon up for trade.
- Proceed along with the prompts to send the Pokemon to your friend.

Additional Trading Notes[edit]
- You need to be with a short distance of your friend to trade.
- The amount of stardust that is needed for the trade depends on what Pokemon.
- Special Event Pokemon, Legendaries will be very costly (Stardust).
- The Stardust cost will reduce based on the level of Friendship.
- Legendary, Shiny, and Pokemon not in your Pokedex count as a special trade.
- Can only complete 1 special trade per day.
- To complete a special trade, you must be Great or Best Friend (level 2-3).
- Trainers will earn a Candy bonus based on the location the Pokemon are caught.
- The farther apart their caught location (100 km), the more candy earned.
- When you trade the Pokemon, you can see the range of CP and HP it could have.
- This range will adjust upward as you improve your friendship level.
Sending Gifts[edit]
- Tap on your trainer icon in the bottom left corner of the screen within Pokemon Go.
- Either tap the top right corner of the trainer screen where you see "Friends" or swipe below your experience bar (about where the medals are).
- You are now on your friends list.
- Tap on the person you want to send the gift to.
- Below the Trainer and buddy, on the left-hand side.
- Tap the Gift icon to send a gift you have acquired to a friend.
- Remember, you can only send 1 gift to each friend at a time.
- They must opened the previously sent gift before you can send another.
Removing Friends[edit]
- Tap on your trainer icon in the bottom left corner of the screen within Pokemon Go.
- Either tap the top right corner of the trainer screen where you see "Friends" or swipe below your experience bar (about where the medals are).
- You are now on your friends list.
- Tap on the person you want to remove from your friends list.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Trainer page, where you will see the remove button to remove a friend.
- Tap this and then confirm the choice.
Friendship Levels[edit]
- By doing certain activities with your friends, once a day, you can improve your friendship level.
- You can increase your friendship level by:
- Sending and receiving Gifts.
- Trading Pokemon
- Raiding in the same group.
0 Hearts - Friend[edit]
- After exchanging Friend Code
- Enables basic trading, no special Pokemon (Pokemon not found in their Pokedex, Legendaries)
1 Heart - Good Friend[edit]
- Having done a Friendship Boosting activity (Raiding, sending or receiving a gift).
- Get 3,000 XP
- Gym Battle/Raid Battle Attack Boost of 3%
- All Pokemon can be traded except mythical (no Zapdos, Articuno, Mew, Mewtwo, etc)
2 Hearts - Great Friend[edit]
- Complete 7 days worth of Friendship boosting activities.
*Get 10,000 XP
- Trade Stardust Discount
- Gym Battle/Raid Battle Attack Boost of 5%
- +1 Premium Ball at end of raid
3 Hearts - Ultra Friends[edit]
- Complete 30 more days worth of Friendship boosting activities.
- Get 50,000 XP
- Improved Stardust Trade discount.
- Greater Gym Battle/Raid Battle Attack Boost of 7%.
- +2 Premium Balls at end of Raid
4 Hearts - Best Friend[edit]
- Complete 30 more days worth of Friendship boosting activities.
- Get 100,000 XP
- Lv. 3 Stardust Trade discount.
- Lv. 3 Gym Battle/Raid Battle Attack Boost of 10%.
- +4 Premium Balls at end of Raid
