Boethiah's Calling in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

“Boethiah's Calling” is a Quest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

This is the daedric quest for Boethiah. This will yield the Ebony Mail artifact upon completion.

Locations[edit]

Walkthrough[edit]

This quest can be gained any time after the Dragonborn has reached level 30. It can be gained by reading the book Boethiah's Proving (often found on the body of a Boethiah Cultist who tried to kill you) or finding the Sacellum of Boethiah.

The Shrine of Boethiah[edit]

You will need to make your way to the top of the Sacellum of Boethiah. There you will find the Priestess of Boethiah waiting there with a number of Cultists. She will explain that they are the mortal agents of this Daedric Prince. She will explain that you need to prove yourself in Boethiah's eyes. You must earn someone's trust and lure them to the shrine above. To this end she will give you the Blade of Sacrifice

The Sacrifice[edit]

Boethiah's Calling

To complete this quest, you must sacrifice a NON ESSENTIAL NPC. You can just send off your present Follower and then grab one you do not care about, like Faendal or another NPC who is no longer useful. You just need to bring them to the Altar of Sacrifice. Talk with them and have them use the pillar to active it. They will be held in place. Just use any weapon to kill the person you are sacrificing. This will count as a Murder though so be a little mindful of that.

Becoming the Champion[edit]

The sacrifice will get Boethiah's attention and she will want you to follow "her". She will lead all the nearby Boethiah Cultists to the fighting pit they have. She will say she has a special task for whoever is left standing. Step back a little and let the Cultists slaughter each other. If you are a Werewolf, this is a great time to transform and just mow them down.

To become her present champion, you will need to replace the former one, in the tradition fashion. She will send you to Knifepoint Ridge where you will need to sneak in and wipe out the bandits that have taken over the area. While Boethiah says to do is silently or stealthily, there is no penalty for being noticed. The outside camp, surrounding the mine with the "former" champion, can take some time to clear. Sneaking is recommended if you want to follow the spirit of the mission. There is no penalty here for being noticed and just slaughtering them all.

Knifepoint Mine[edit]

Head inside the mine. Go a bit down the slope leading deeper into the mine. Ahead of you is a Bandit. Pick them off with an arrow and then slip down the rest of the slope. You can get at the chest they were next to easily. To the right you can find a cell with a dead Imperial, with a pickaxe and Iron Ore Vein inside it. The door is an Expert Level lock. You can find 2 more Iron Ore Veins in this room as well. When you ready to move on turn to the East and head down the slope.

This next room has a bandit tucked away to the left of where you come in. This makes it very important to be sneaking to get the drop on him. Get to the bottom of the slope and look in the gap in the nearby boxes. You will see them working at the Alchemy Lab. Pick them off quickly. Turn to the East again. You will see 2-4 more Bandits in the next room. You can also find your target: Champion of Boethiah.

Head down the slope quietly. You will find a bandit mining the wall. Either pick them off with an arrow or two or sneak up behind them for a sneak attack. To the right you will find the main room of this mine. The Champion will be patrolling around. There is a chance that the poisonous aura will cause the other Bandits to attack the champion. They can cause him to go to a knee, but they will not kill him. Pick them off and then take out the Champion when the chance presents itself.

Once the champion is dead, the remaining bandits will be marked on your map. Use it to track them down and kill them. WHen you are done, return to the body of the Champion. There, claim your prize, the Ebony Mail. Be sure to take the Mail from the champion's inventory and then equip it. Otherwise, it will not detect that you have equipped it properly. You will hear from Boethiah again after that. She is content with you taking up the mantle of her champion. The quest will be completed
