"Escape Bloodskal Barrow" is an objective in the side quest "The Final Descent" in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn.
Walkthrough[edit]
To begin this part of the quest, equip the Bloodskal Blade. You will need to remember with the power attacks, a backwards power attack (power attacking while moving away from the target) will give you a horizontal beam. A standing power attack will give you a vertical beam.
Look to the right of the circular door in front of you. You will see a section of wall with a disc on it. It has a red line on it. You will want to face this section and perform a backwards power attack.
Look to the left-hand side of the arch. You will see a second place to do a backwards power attack.
Wait for the stones to stop moving and look along the arch. A second red line has appeared on the right-hand side. Use a standing power attack while looking at this mark to activate it.
Look above where the last attack hit. You will see a vertical ribbon to hit with the energy from the Bloodskal Blade. Attack using a standing power attack to activate it.
Look on the right-hand side, close to the top of the arch. You will see another horizontal red mark. Once again, aim for it and perform a backwards power attack.
Look just a bit to the left to see another mark appear on the left-hand side of the arch near the top. Perform the same attack to open the door.
Finally, aim for the center of the door with a standing power attack to finish activating the door and open the way forward.
Go forward into the newly opened doorway. Be careful because you can see a swinging axe trap ahead of you. When you get in front of each of them in this hallway, they will activate. Wait for them to be just clearing in front of you and then run across. Repeat this as needed to get through the 7 traps like it in this hallway.
In the back of the room you will find a lever to stop the traps and open the door nearby.
Through the door you will enter another large chamber. Approach the large chest carefully.
From the water in the middle of the room will emerge a Dragon Priest: Zahkriisos. Be ready for a tough fight against this Priest. Zahkriisos attacks you largely using Shock spells. These spells will sap your magicka. Take your time
In the back eastern part you will find a Word Wall. This has the second word Wyrm of the Dragon Aspect shout.
Turn to the West from the back of the room and go to the right-hand side of the room.
In this small room, you will find the Black Book The Winds of Change. This will begin the side quest: Black Book The Winds of Change. You can simply go back and read The Winds of Change to leave the area without completing this quest and let you finish the Barrow.
Head up the stairs behind the book's pedestal. This will lead up to an iron door.
Go up the sloped hallway to the next door. To the left of it is a pull chain that will open the Door. Go on through it.
This leads to a chamber with a few Reavers inside it. Take your time to defeat them using the cover around. You need to deal with 2 Reavers in this first chamber. Defeat them and continue to the West.
Go up the slope into the area with all the skeletons on their beds. There is another Reaver here for you to deal with. Kill them and continue to the West. This will take you back outside.
