Approaching the House[edit]
When you arrive at the house, you are likely to be attacked by a number of Ash Spawn. Clear them out first before you begin exploring the house itself. Skyrim Dragonborn: Hrodulf's House
Once you clear out the Ash Spawn, explore the house. Head into the Southern section of it to find a trap door. Head inside it to find a pair of Reaver.
In the basement, you will find a pair of Reavers. Go around the corner to the right and you can sneak up on the Reavers. Explore around the basement and find the bookshelf that sits against one of the walls. Interact with it to have it swing open and reveal a hidden passage behind it.
Go down the passage in front of you. You will find some Dwemer ruins here. Go up the stairs that you find. At the top of them you will find Bjornolfr. Check his body to find the Bloodstained Letter.
Search the area to find some Dwemer Metal scattered about the room. There still is no sign of Hrodulf
Head back to the surface and go to the Coast south of the house. Explore the beach. You will find the corpse of Hrodulf and a Burnt Spriggan by a canoe
