Adoptions is a new feature in Skyrim: Hearthfire.[1]
Adopting a child[edit]
Talk to an orphan and tell him/her that you can adopt him/her if you want.
Child will move into your home. You can play games with adopted children, and allow them to have pets.
You can also make them do chores, give them allowance, make them play outside, and give them gifts.
