Chieftan is, as his name suggests, the Chieftan of Skogr, the village where Rook and Alette come from.
He looks to Rook and Iver for advice, especially when Dredge set upon the village.
The Chieftan's wife is Oddleif, who acts as a sort of mother figure to Alette and one of the major characters in the game's story.
