Usage[edit]
By using Dark Zone Keys, you can open up these chests. These will contain higher end items, rare loot, gear and weapons.
Most of these Chests are keyed to an enemy encounter around the chest. If you do not see the enemies, then you should move on.
Locations - DZ01 & DZ02[edit]
Chest 1[edit]
E 31st St and Madison Ave
Approach this location from the East. Before you reach the intersection, look to the Southern side of the road. You will find a short alleyway there. It is protected by higher level enemies (9+).
Clear out the enemies with some help and then head to the end of the alleyway. You will find the chest there. It works on a server timer and has limited availability.
Chest 2[edit]
E 38th St and Madison Ave
Head up Madison Ave past E 38th St. You can see a small plaza in front of a building. Head into it to find the chest.
Once again, the chest sits against the building in the back of the area.
Chest 3[edit]
Head West along E 38th St, to just past 5th Ave. Look for an opening through to the building itself. You can see by looking toward 5th Ave. Go inside the building.
Once inside, head to the West then North. Go up the stairs you will see in front of you.
At the top of the stairs you will see the Dark Zone Chest sitting in front of the first wall, just in front of a pair of sofas.
Chest 4[edit]
Head through the intersection and toward the open gate below the No Entry sign.
Inside this area you will encounter some of the strongest enemies in the Dark Zone, the Cleaners and high level ones too. This includes one: Mazeroski. All of their Flamethrowers have very long reach. Be wary of them and keep your distance.
Survive the inferno that they unleashed on you and your squad and make your way to the back of the area. You will find the Dark Zone chest there.
Chest 5[edit]
This chest is found underground. The entrance is found on E 34th St between 6th Ave and Madison Ave.
Look for the car park that is on the Southern side of the block.
Head past the Basketball Court and look for the 33rd St entrance to the Underground.
Head down to the deepest level of the subway station. You will see C on the platform. Turn to the left and head down the train tracks there
