How to start quest[edit]

Read the notice on the Notice Board at the Refugee Camp near the Border Post. Then, speak with Captain Felix Grubb who is nearby (see map below).

Objectives[edit]

Walkthrough[edit]

After reading the notice, talk to Captain Felix Grubb.

Then go to the Transport Attack Site northeast of the Inn at the Crossroads, past the river.

Examine the following hints:

Follow the tracks down to the ford. In the marked area, cross the river and go up a hill towards a tree to initiate a cutscene.

Talk to the Scoia'tael Archer.

If you tell him "you’ve killed enough humans already" or refuse to disarm yourself after asking him to take you to his commander, there is a fight. Kill all the Scoia'taels, loot them to get the proof you need, and go back to the captain to report what happened. You will get a Transit Pass in addition to some crowns.

If you ask the Archer to speak to his leader and agree to put down your weapons, he leads you to the Scoia'tael Camp to talk to Vernossiel. If you tell her that they are "Common bandits" you fight them. Then go back to the captain for your reward. Or tell the Scoia'tael to "do as you will" and return to the captain of the guard. He is angry that you did not find the monster, and you will not receive a Transit Pass. However the Scoia'tael gave you some elvish items from one of the transports they raided as a reward instead.

Or you could choose to rat out on the Scoia'tael even if you told them you'd keep it a secret. You get the rewards from Vernossiel and the Captain, including the Transit Pass. Later, the Scoia'tael will ambush you at the outskirts of Novigrad in revenge.

Strategy Guide/Tips[edit]

  • This is a good way to get the Transit Pass if you failed the quest, Bitter Harvest. If you still do not get the Transit Pass though, there will be another way to get it, as you progress in the story.
  • If you fight Vernossiel and her gang at the Scoia'tael Camp after putting down your weapons, you will be unarmed and at a severe disadvantage.
