Your base location in XCOM Enemy Unknown determines a number of things about the game to come, ranging from monthly income to gameplay bonuses.
Income Effect[edit]
Your monthly income will change greatly depending on where you settle your base in the beginning of the game. Starting out in the USA will give you an extra 180 Credits per month, along with the additional Base Funding that depends on your chosen difficulty level. Starting in Africa will grant you an extra 30% to Nigeria's funding and an extra 30% to Base Funding thans to their All In bonus. You'll then get an extra 30% of credits earned from every other funding source as you get more Satellites.
Other Effects[edit]
You'll get Satellites in the country you choose to start in, so if you really want the bonuses of a country, start out there.
