Bomb Disposal is a mission type in XCOM Enemy Unknown that demands a series of steps to complete. First, players must defuse a bomb set somewhere in the level. This entails deactivating the bomb and its power sources. Then, you will have to defend the bomb site from attacking Aliens. As the match winds down, you'll have to prevent the reactivation of the bomb by killing all of the hostiles in the level.

Bomb Disposal missions are some of the toughest in XCOM Enemy Unknown. They require quick and decisive action, yet demand precision. When you begin a match, you will have a limited number of turns to reach the bomb before it explodes. In a typical match, it's best to not even try to reach the bomb before it detonates. Instead, go straight for its power sources. Find the power nodes in the map and destroy them; each power node destroyed will buy you one extra turn to act. If you can, use Area of Effect attacks to disable more than one power node per turn. If you do reach the bomb before completely disabling it, you can then deactivate it manually. Just be sure to keep a Sniper situated nearby to provide overwatch on the bomb, as the enemies will try to reactivate it after you shut it down.
