Samuels is a character in the game Alien: Isolation
He is an executive of Weyland-Yutani
At the beginning of the game, he approaches Amanda Ripley and offers her to come with him on board the courier ship Torrens which is headed to Sevastopol to find out what's in a flight recorder which was retrieved by the Anesidora.
That flight recorder was obtained from the Nostromo, the ship on which Amanda's mother, Ellen Ripley, served on when she disappeared. The flight log might contain clues regarding her mother's disappearance, and Samuels offers Amanda to come with him and learn what's on the Nostromo's flight recorder.
