Description

As an Island is developed in Animal Crossing New Horizons, it will accrue a value based on the number of residents, development, and scenery.

Ratings and Requirements

1 Star

  • Starting rating.
    • Not enough Villagers for another ranking.
    • Less than 80 points gained from development.
    • Less than 200 points gained from Scenery.

2 Star

  • At least 7 residents (includes those who have moved away, but excludes the Villager them self).
  • 80-159 points in Development
  • 200-269 points in Scenery

3 Star

  • 160-399 points in Development.
  • 270-349 points in Scenery.

4 Star

  • Have at least 9 Residents (max).
  • 400-664 points in Development
  • 350-449 points in Scenery

5 Star

  • Highest Rating
    • 7 Residents
    • 665+ point from Development
    • 450+ points from Scenery

Flowers and Trees

  • Trees (full grown) add 1 point each, up to 190.
    • Trees counted - Fruit, Cedar, Bamboo, Coconut.
  • Flower Sprouts are 0.5 points individually.
  • Flower Buds and Steam are 0.7 points individually.
  • Flowers are worth 1 point individually.


DIY Furniture

  • Gauged in an 8x8 (64 tile) divisions across the island.
  • Unique furniture pieces 3x1, 3x2, or 3x3 worth 1 point
  • Furniture attribution is calculated using: # of Furniture placed x 0.25.
  • If 10+ unique pieces are placed on an island, the calculation changes to: # of Furniture placed x 0.75.

Buildings and Structures

Furniture

  • Gauged in an 8x8 (64 tile) divisions across the island.
  • Fencing is worth 0.2 points for each placed section.
  • Unique furniture pieces 3x1, 3x2, or 3x3 worth 1 point
  • Furniture attribution is calculated using: # of Furniture placed x 0.25.
  • If 10+ unique pieces are placed on an island, the calculation changes to: # of Furniture placed x 0.75.
  • Outdoor furniture calculates with the following Bonus Points: # of Outdoor Furniture x 0.5
  • Furniture Value Bonus (2,000-20,000): # of Furniture x 1
  • Furniture Value Bonus (20,000+): # of Furniture x2

Negative Conditions

Clutter - Gauged in an 8x8 (64 tiles) divisions across the island.

    • If 45/64 of the division have misc items in it, the area is considered.
    • Bridges, Buildings, Buried Items, Rocks, Cliffs, Rivers and Inclines do not could toward this total.

Litter

    • Dropping more than 15 small (1x1) items on the ground will have the island be deemed messy.
    • Naturally occuring items (Tree Branches,Stones,Shells, and Star Fragments) do not count toward this limit.
