Capturing crew members is an option after boarding an enemy ship and defeating its captain in Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag.
This option will allow you to increase the number of crew members in Kenway's Fleet, increasing its power. Edward can then send the fleet off on missions, much like the Assassin's Guild members of older games.
The number of ships you'll gain is indicated to the right.
