The best class to play for Solo in Borderlands 2 is Axton the Commando
Axton is the easiest character to play if you have never played Borderlands before.
This is because of his Sabre Turret that you can deploy on the ground and it shoots enemies with you, kinda acting as a second party member.
When playing Axton this way, most of your skill points should be invested in the Guerilla tree.
