==Introduction==
The Borderlands [https://borderlands.com/en-US/news/2019-04-03-vault-insider-program-what-is-it/ Vault Insider Program] or VIP is a program developed by the partnership between Gearbox and 2K games to generate interest and excitement about their new upcoming sequel in the Borderlands franchise, Borderlands 3. It builds upon the Golden Key/Shift Code program developed for Borderlands 2. Simply put, a user gains points by watching, reading, or participating in various [https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip-activities/ activities] surrounding the game or by [https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip-codes/ entering codes] released during events or through marketing focused ventures. These points can be redeemed for in-game and out-of-game rewards.

In order to participate in the program, you will need to sign up for and link a [https://shift.gearboxsoftware.com/ SHIFT account].

==Rewards==
Redeemable [https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip-rewards/ rewards] for the VIP program will change once every few months or what the program calls a season. The rewards range amongst weapons, skins and heads, Golden Keys, and mobile or desktop wallpapers, and more. Also, there will be a bonus award if you use your points to claim a certain number of VIP weapon rewards by a certain date.

In Season 1, a weapon Randomizer could be used once to claim a free weapon reward. The weapon was from a specific loot pool for Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

==Points==
===Activities===
Among the various activities that you can do to gain points, a few can be claimed once a week but most can be claimed only once in the lifetime of the program. Points from activities such as watching trailers or video recaps of events is a once per lifetime point gain of 100, 250, or 500 points per activity. However, checking the Borderlands social media sites, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will net you 100 points each per week.

===Codes===
Additional to the activities, codes are released in various forms that if entered will also gain you points. The four types of codes are vault, email, diamond, and creator. Vault codes are typically special codes released during interviews or reveals. Email codes are codes sent to the newsletter subscribers. Diamond codes are rare codes, redeemable only by the attendees of events and possibly only by one person. Creator codes are streamer codes that can be used during stream events. These last, creator codes, are limited to four per event and can not be entered after the event has completed.
