Ammunition is used in all guns in Fortnite Battle Royale. Each gun 'category' has their own form of ammunition. There are five different ammunition types in the game. These include:
Only certain guns can use certain types of ammunition. For example, the shotgun can only use Shells, not Rockets.
Ammunition is found in golden chests, in houses, out in the open, next to guns, dropped by players or in special ammunition cans. You can find ammunition cans in shelving units and under the stairs of houses.
Ammunition will always be spawned immediately next to it's associated weapon. If you find a weapon (that was not dropped by a player) without ammunition next to it, a player has looted it.
